By the looks of it, the Himalayan ticks all the right boxes to make it worthy of being called an adventure bike. The long suspension travel on both ends with raised mudguard should help the Himalayan tackle all type of terrains with ease. It also gets spoke wheels, chunky button tyres and a raised exhaust to improve its off-road capabilities. The front of the motorcycle gets a traditional round headlamp and a tall windscreen while the rear section sports mounts to attach panniers and the instrument cluster is made up of a twin-pod unit, with a small digital display. We can expect the Himalayan to share a few components and switchgear with other Royal Enfield bikes, to keep costs in check.
Though rumours suggest that the Himalayan will be available with two engine options, our sources have informed us that the Himalayan will be initially offered with a single engine. We can expect the Himalayan to go on sale by next year, with a price tag in the range of Rs 2.5 lakh.
